Feeling devastated and miserable, we often do not sleep a wink. As a result, we are shocked when we see our reflection in the mirror next morning. We are left not only with a broken heart, but with puffy and red eyes. Of course, not only stress and crying can result in puffy eyes, but allergy, hormonal changes and problems with heart. It is very uncomfortable and unpleasant to have puffy eyes. Though, it is not dangerous.
The easiest way is to cover the eyes up with sunglasses, but it does not solve the problem. How to get rid of puffy eyes? First of all, a splash of ice-cold water and a shower are a perfect cure for those who had a sleepless night because of work or studying. As cold water lessens swelling and helps constrict blood vessels, it helps puffy eyes to go back to normal.
Did you know that cucumber not only helps fight against wrinkles, but remove bags around the eyes? Thanks to soothing astringent properties, cucumber works effectively for puffy eyes. Take two slices of the fresh cucumber, leave them in the fridge and then put over your closed eyes. Remove them in 5-10 minutes.
The other way to get rid of the puffy eyes is to use cold tea bags. Tea also has soothing effect. Soak tea bags in hot water for 3 minutes. Take the tea bags out and then let them get cool. Put them over the eyes and remove in a few minutes. Both black and green tea help get rid of redness while chamomile tea contains anti-irritants soothing redness and inflammation.
Egg whites work great, too. They are often used in facial masks to tighten skin and prevent formation of wrinkles. As they help tighten skin, they lessen its painful look. Take a few egg whites, whip them up until they are stiff and then add witch hazel. Apply them under the eyes using a brush and let them dry. Rinse the mixture in a few minutes. However, if do not have the time, the best way is to remember about our first advice.
You can wash your face with ice-cold water. And finally, try to drink 6-8 glasses of water every day. It may also help you to avoid the problem of puffy eyes.
