During Paris Fashion Week has displayed its marvelous array of talent and as a result of it a range of obvious trends for spring/summer 2012 were revealed. Firstly, this is a trend that began in London then went through Milan and arrived at Paris. This is the undersea theme. It was offered in Paris in the collections of Holly Fulton, Versace, Mary Katrantzou, Armani, Alexander McQueen and Chanel.
The prints of scales on the models made them look like mermaids. The ambience of colors and forms resembled the undersea world. Corals, sea horses, jelly fish and the similar creatures could be recognized on the attires in either print or design.
Marine theme is in fashion therefore blue color is a top color this season. Midnight blue hues could be seen in almost all collections. For instance, it was present in Jean Paul Gaultier or Lanvin collection, in Miu Miu attires and the ones from Viktor & Rolf.
Much attention was paid to embellished material. If you look at what Valentino and Jean Paul Gaultier offered throughout the week you would see lace and sheer, while Gautier decided to add leather and corsets Balmain also made a bet on embellishment. This is the feature chosen by Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel though other fashion houses also created their collections with regard of this trend.
