Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973 in North Rhine-Westphalia. She spent her childhood in her native city Bergisch Gladbach located not far from Cologne. Her career as a swimsuit star and a top fashion model started by accident. Heidi submitted her photos to the competition organized by Petra, a magazine for young women.
Heidi Klum won this competition and signed with a popular German modeling agency Metropolitan. For a few years she was modeling in Europe. Then Heidi went to the USA and was even more successful there.
Culmination was Heidi’s relationship with Victoria’s Secret. She was its spokes model and earned about $4,000,000. In 1998 Heidi Klum became a cover girl of the annual Swimsuit Issue. Thanks to beneficial marketing opportunities including her signature lines of jewelry, perfume and sandals Heidi Klum earned a few million dollars. She designed collections for Birkenstock shoes and Mouawad jewelry. She also has her own lines of swimwear and clothes.
Then she decided to parlay her fame in Hollywood. Heidi Klum often appeared on TV in Germany and the United States. Her first single "Wonderland" released for a series of TV commercials reached the 13th place in the German singles chart in 2006. In 2001 the People Magazine named her as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world.
In 2004 and 2005 Heidi Klum was voted as number 9 in the list of the top sexiest women. In 2006 Heidi was the 41st in the FHM Magazine’s list of the 100 sexiest women of the world.
As for her private life, Heidi Klum was dating a singer Seal Samuel for a long time. They met for the first time in a New York hotel after his workout in the hotel’s gym. As Heidi said to Oprah in her show, she felt in love with him immediately. He treated Heidi’s daughter like his own. In 2004 they became engaged. It happened in a mountain resort located in Whistler. On May 10, 2005 they married and chose a beach in Mexico for their wedding ceremony.
Her wedding dress was made by Vera Wang. However, only in 2009 Heidi Klum legally changed her surname to Samuel. Heidi Klum is a family person. Besides her super success as a model, she also succeeded as a wife and mother to 4 kids. Her first child, Helene Boshoven Klum was born 2 years earlier, on May 4, 2004. The girl’s biological father was Heidi’s ex-boy friend Flavio Briatore, but the girl was officially adopted by Seal.
Heidi and Seal’s son, Henry Gunther Ademola Dashtu Samuel, was born on September 12, 2006. Heidi Klum was 32 at that moment. Then, Heidi and Seal became the parents to twins Henry Gunther and Johan Riley. And finally, in 2009 happy parents introduced their 4 and the last child – baby girl Lou.
Well, it seems to be the perfect story which deserves admiration – beautiful, sexy, successful woman and caring parent – Heidi Klum is a great example to follow!
UPDATE on 23.01.2012: It has been confirmed just today that beauty Heidi Klum filed for divorce with the reason of "irreconcilable differences". After seven years of happy marriage and raising four kids, it was tough decision for Heidi we assume.
