Every person at least once in his life feels anxiety or stress. Stress has already been called the disease of twenty first century. It is a common reaction of the body on different negative external factors and it has to be gone at the time these factors’ influence is gone. Sometimes all you need is to have a good rest, a long sleep and to clear your thoughts to get rid of anxiety and stress. But more and more often it happens when you’re totally in the grip of stress and it seems that nothing can return you to a normal condition.
You have to call your doctor if:
- the stress led to different health complications, such as dizziness, rapid breathing and heart beating, or even worse you may feel pain in the chest, followed by shortness of breath and heavy sweating
- you start thinking about suicide, see no life meaning and believe that it will never be better than it is now
- suddenly you felt panic and don’t know the reason of anxiety, you cannot concentrate on doing any work or repeat some work over and over again. Sudden anxiety may be a result of heart attack, so you should be extremely attentive to such accesses and call 911 as quickly as possible
- you feel constant tiredness and yourself treatment efforts weren’t successful
- you are intolerant to heat, or noticed some weight loss despite the fact that you don’t keep any diet and eat well with a great appetite
- you have a bad sleep, insomnia, distribution of sleep or you see horrors in your dreams
- you see that nothing and no one can make you feel better
- you constantly feel irritated by things you liked before
- you feel that you can’t make it by yourself and need a professional help
Ask your doctor whether stress or anxiety could be caused by other drugs, you’ve been taking, as a side effect. Don’t stop taking medicine, prescribed by a doctor, just because you felt better, you have to take the whole course till the end.
